Day 01: Arrival Antananarivo
Arrival Antananarivo, meet and assistance at the airport by the representative. Transfer to the hotel, check in. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Antananarivo – Andasibe
Breakfast at the hotel. Then drive straight eastward to Andasibe through the typical landscape of the highland and the eastern rain forest. Morning visit of the Analamazaotra reserve which is a special reserve for the Indri Indri, the largest living lemur. In the afternoon, visit of the private reserve of Mitsinjo where you can still enjoy observing lemurs, discovering endemic fauna and flora. Evening walk for spotting nocturnal species as the mouse lemur, dwarf lemur, Wolly lemur, chameleons, frogs. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Andasibe
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, walk within the primary forest of the Mantadia National Park where diurnal lemur species as the Black and white ruffed lemur, the diademed sifaka lemur, the common brown lemur, the eastern grey bamboo lemur and the red bellied lemur might be spotted as well as different endemic species of birds. Back to the hotel after the visit. In the afternoon, visit of the private reserve of the Vakona including its small island for lemurs. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Andasibe - Antananarivo – Antsirabe
Breakfast at the hotel, then drive back to Antananarivo and continuation southward to Antsirabe always through the typical landscape of the highland (rice fields, typical villages of the Merina tribe, rocky hills….). On the way, stop at the Peyreiras reptiles farm for observing different endemic species of chameleons, lizards, geckoes, frogs. Continue and arrival in Antsirabe in late afternoon, installation in your room. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Antsirabe - Ranomafana
Breakfast at the hotel. Then city tour in the town of Antsirabe which is the Industrial and agricultural center of Madagascar. The town is well known as well on precious and semi-precious stones. Continuation to Ambositra after the visit. Arrival in Ambositra the capital of the Malagasy handicrafts. Visit of different handicrafts shops then lunch in a restaurant (at your own charge). In the afternoon, continuation to Ranomafana. Leaving the highland and heading to the south eastern of Madagascar in crossing the area of the Tanala tribe. Upon arrival, installation at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Ranomafana
Breakfast at hotel. Two days spent for exploring the Ranomafana National Park.
Walking in the park where three species of bamboo lemurs are found (grey bamboo lemur, golden bamboo lemur and the greater bamboo lemur) as well as other lemur species as the Milen’s edwards sifaka, common brown lemur, red bellied lemur might be also spotted during the visit. Endemic birds as the ground rollers, vangas, couas, brown mesite, coukoo rollers, asity…. Are found as well within this forest. In the afternoon, visit of the Vohiparara forest which is well known for a bird watching site and where you might spot the yellow bellied asity, the Madagascar Yellow brow, Madagascar forest fody, Cryptic warbler. Overnight at hotel.
Day 07: Ranomafana
Breakfast at the hotel. Day free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Ranomafana - Ambalavao - Ranohira
After breakfast, continuation southward to Ambalavao. Arrival in Ambalavao. Visit of the Antemoro paper factory. After the visit, continuation to Ranohira. Different photo stops on the way: the south gate, the bishops hat, the Horombe table land where the Reunion Harrier bird might be spotted. Arrival in Ranohira by the end of the afternoon. Installation at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Ranohira
Breakfast at the hotel, then drive to the village of Ranohira for picking your local guide. Transfer to the parking area where you are starting walking towards the famous “Piscine Naturelle” through the beautiful landscape of Isalo National Park and endemic plants as the Aloes, Pachypodium, Kalanchoes, Tapia trees….. pending time for about 30minutes at the pool then continuation of your walk towards the Namaza site which takes is about 02hours. Arrival at the camping ite of Namaza, with chance enjoying already to observe the ring tailed lemur in the same time. In the afternoon, walk until the Cascade des Nymphes. Possibility of spotting birds including the endemic Benson’s Rockthrush. Joining the parking after the visit, and drive back to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Ranohira - Toliara
After breakfast, continuation southward to Toliara in passing through different villages of the sapphire miners. Change of landscape into savannah and bushes. Stop at Zombitse national park to discover some endemic birds and baobabs trees. Then continue your road trip, well painted tombs of the southern tribes can be discovered along the road. Arrival in Toliara. Installation in your room. Nocturnal visit of the arboretum. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Toliara - Ifaty
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the arboretum Antsokay and then drive to Ifaty. You can enjoy yourself of spotting birds on the way. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Ifaty
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning drive to the Reniala spiny forest for a birdwatching. Possibility of spotting the Long tailed ground roller, the subdert mesite, the green capped coua, the subdsert warbler, the thamnornis warbler, the common newtonia, the archbold newtonia, the striped throated Jery, the Sickle billed vanga, the chaberts vanga…… Back to the hotel after the visit. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13: Ifaty
Breakfast at the hotel. Day free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Ifaty - Toliara - Antananarivo
Breakfast at the hotel. Then transfer to the airport. Flight to Antananarivo. Meeting at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Depart Antananarivo
Breakfast at the hotel then transfer to the airport. City tour of the town and last shopping at the handcrafts market of la digue before your transfer to the airport. Arrival airport and flight back home.
