Itinerary


Day 01: Arrival Siem Reap

Pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel check-in. After successfully checking in the hotel, we take short walk along the road in front of the King’s Residence to see the Main Shrine, where the local people usually worship, with its statue of YeayTeap, PreahAngChek and PreahAngChorm. Buying jasmine and lotus flowers to worship is very important for the Cambodians. Then continue to Wat Bo, a large, highly respected pagoda, founded in the 18th Century. Like the Silver Pagoda in Phnom Penh, the vihear of Wat Bo contains unique wall paintings of the Reamker that are said to be late 19th Century. Look for the daily-life market scenes such as an opium smoking Chinese merchant, the colonial era French officer at the market and the French soldiers attending a traditional dance performance. Also of interest is the large collection of Buddha statues located behind the main Buddha. We will continue to "ChantiersEcoles - Les Artisans d'Angkor" which provides training to young Cambodians in an effort to revive the ancient Khmer traditions of stone carving and wood sculpting. Overnight at the hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 02: Siem Reap

After breakfast, visit to The South Gate of Angkor Thom: Bayob Temple, The Royal Enclosure, Phimeanaka, Elephant and Leper King Terrace. Continue visit to Ta Promh (the jungle temple). After lunch, visit to Thommanan, ChaosayTevoda, Ta Keo: small, attractive temple in very good condition, built all the same time as Angkor Wat. Continue to Angkor Wat: The “7th Wonders’of the World”. World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. Continue visit to Bakheng Hill: Sunset viewing on the top of the hill. Bakheng is the first major temple to be constructed in the Angkor area; this temple-mountain offers extraordinary views of the Tonle Sap and Angkor Wat (visit to Night & Pub Street)

Day 03: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh Overland

Breakfast at the hotel – visit to Floating Village, take a ride by traditional wooden boat on Tonle Sap Lake to experience the human occupations at the edges of the lake is similarly distinctive – floating villages, towering stilled houses, huge fish traps, and an economy and way of life deeply intertwined with the lake, the fish, the wildlife and the cycles of rising and falling waters. In the wet season, the Tonle Sap Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia. After lunch, transfer overland to Phnom Penh. En route, we will stop for a quick visit at the spider market. After dinner, transfer back to hotel. Accommodation at hotel.

Day 04: Phnom Penh

Breakfast at the hotel – Visit to Royal Palace is a royal residence now where His Majesty, the King of Cambodia, and the royal families live. it is like a small town of royal dynasties. Continue to Silver Pagoda, serves less as a functioning temple than a repository for cultural treasures such as 90 kg golden Buddha encrusted with 2086 diamonds. Afternoon, visit Wat Phnom Temple is one of the most important pagodas in Phnom Penh. Built in 1373 on an artificial hill by the wealthy widow Daun Chi Penh, Independence Monument, Sisowath Quay. Sunset Cruise on the Tonle Sap and Mekong Rivers in Phnom Penh, it bursts into 4 branches. Day 05: Phnom Penh

Breakfast at hotel. Visit TuolSleng Museum (S-21 prison). This former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces. More than 17,000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at ChoengEk to be executed. Then drive to visit the “Killing Fields” of ChoengEk (15 km south of Phnom Penh). Between 1975 and 1978 about 17,000 men, women, children and infants (including nine westerners) were detained and tortured at the S-21 prison and transported to extermination camp of ChoengEk. Visit Russian Market (ToulTumpong Market), the Market has gained reputation for cheap clothing, a large selection of Buddha images and woodcarvings, betel-nut boxes, silk, silver jewelry, and classic music instrument. Day 06: Depart Phnom Penh

Breakfast at the hotel – Free and leisure.  Transfer to the airport for the flight departure.
