DAY 01 - ARRIVE IN DELHI (STAY AT THE TAJ PALACE HOTEL, DELHI)

This is the capital city of India, and can be called as a major gateway to India. Delhi is one of the most important metropolitan in India, as it is the city of power. It has a very good combination of both modern, as well as ancient culture. In these 3000 years of its existence, there has been the origin of seven more cities, where the traditional Indian capital is. Strategic location, mixture of modern and Indian culture, rich history, medieval market, beside the modern ones etc are the main reasons for choosing it, as the seat of power. Delhi is a city waiting to be explored. It is also known as the Headquarters of Indian politics, as most of the heads of the Indian government and other political parties; reside here, including the Prime Minister, and President of the country. DAY 02 - IN DELHI (B)

After breakfast City tour of Old & New Delhi visiting Raj Ghat , where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated . Red Fort , Made by Mughal Empror Shahjahan , Jama Masjid , The largest in India, It has three great gateways, four angle towers and two minarets constructed of alternating vertical strips of red sandstone and white marble. Chandni Chowk , this main street of Old Delhi is the colorful shopping bazaar, known as Chandni Chowk. It has very sharp contrast to the open, spacious streets of Delhi. Laxmi Narayan Temple , dedicated to Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and good fortune . India Gate , this 42ms high stone of triumph is a war memorial . It bears the names of 85,000 Indian army soldiers, who died in the campaigns of WW I .Rashtrapati Bhawan - This palace-like building is the official residence of the President of India and an interesting blend of Mughal and western architectural styles . Qutab Minar - The highest monument of India, Qutb Minar is 72.5 m high, tapering from 2.75 m in diameter at its peak, to 14.32 m at its base, and alternating angular and rounded flutings. Humayun's Tomb , is mausoleum of the Mughal emperor Humayun. Bahai Temple , or the Lotus Temple is a marvel of modern architecture. Set among pools and gardens, adherents of any faith can visit, pray or meditate. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 03 - DELHI TO AGRA (STAY AT THE TAJVIEW, AGRA) (B) 243 Km, 4 hr

After breakfast depart by surface to Agra. Afternoon City tour visiting, Taj Mahal, built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Besides the Taj, the Agra Fort (also called the Red Fort) makes an interesting sight. Other major attractions include the tomb of Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra, Rambagh, the Mughal Garden and Dayal Bagh Temple, Itmad Ud Dauula. Besides the historical monuments, one can also explore Agra’s rich heritage of handicrafts in its markets. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 04 - AGRA TO JAIPUR (STAY AT THE TAJ RAMBAGH PALACE, JAIPUR) (B) 239 Km, 4 hr

After breakfast depart by surface to Jaipur. The picturesque capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is color washed pink-the color associated with hospitality in Rajput culture. This Beautiful city along with Agra and Delhi form what is known as the Golden Triangle of Indian tourist circuit. Jaipur is a city where royalty still lives in the grandeur of its palaces, where fighting for the honour of the clan has never been a need but a way of life, and where treating guests as gods has been a tradition from time immemorial . There is a timeless appeal to Jaipur's colorful bazaars where one can shop for Rajasthani handlooms and trinkets. Beautifully laid out gardens and parks, attractive monuments and marvelous heritage hotels, once the residence of Maharajas are worth admiration. Not to mention the ambling camels and cheerful people in multi-hued costumes that make your trip to the pink city a memorable one. Over night at Hotel.

DAY 05 - IN JAIPUR (B)

After breakfast City tour visiting City Palace , the former royal residence built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles. Jantar Mantar, is the largest of the five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh. The Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds was constructed for the royal ladies to watch the royal processions without being seen. Amber Fort, situated just outside the city, is perhaps the most beautiful example of Rajasthani forts and gives a grand view of the city down below. Other attractions include the Jaigarh Fort, Birla Mandir, and Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 06 - JAIPUR TO JODHPUR (STAY AT TAJ UMAID BHAWAN PALACE, JODHPUR) (B) 334 Km, 5 hr 41 min

After breakfast depart by surface to Jodhpur. Set at the edge of the Thar desert, the imperial city of Jodhpur echoes with tales of antiquity in the emptiness of he desert. Once the capital of the Marwar state , it was founded in 1459 A.D. by Rao Jodha-chief of the Rathore clan of Rajputs who claimed to be descendants of Rama - the epic hero of the Ramayana . While the graceful palaces , forts and temples strewn throughout the city bring alive the historic grandeur, exquisite handicrafts , folk dances music and the brightly attired people lend a romantic aura to the city. The jumble of wide winding streets are flanked with pavement stalls. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 07 - IN JODHPUR (B)

After breakfast City tour visiting Mehrangarh Fort – This massive fort is the most impressive and formidable structure in Jodhpur . Jaswant Thada – A cluster of royal cenotaphs in white marble built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Umaid Bhawan Palace – The only 20th century palace built under the famine relief project that gave employment to famine struck population. The palace was completed in 16 years. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 08 - JODHPUR TO UDAIPUR (STAY AT THE TAJ LAKE PALACE, UDAIPUR) (B) 250 Km, 4 hr 41 min

After breakfast depart by surface to Udaipur. Located in the Aravalli ranges of Rajasthan, the city of Udaipur is situated at a distance of about 405 km from the state capital Jaipur. The city is well connected through air, rail, and road to other important cities of India like Jaipur, Delhi, and Mumbai. Udaipur is a fascinating blend of sights, sound and experiences. Right from the medieval times, the city has been an inspiration for poets, painters and writers. Founded in 1559 and named after Maharana Udai Singh, Udaipur became the capital of the Sisodia dynasty whose earlier capital was Chittor. According to legend, the Maharana was out hunting one day when he met a holy man meditating on a hill overlooking the Lake Pichola. The hermit blessed the Maharana and told him to built a palace at that very spot, as it would be well protected. The Maharana followed the holy man”s advice and Udaipur came into being. Today, Udaipur is a one of the better-known tourist destinations of India. Summers in Udaipur are quite hot with temperature going up to 38°C during the day. Winters are relatively pleasant with temperature remaining at around 28°C during day and up to 11°C during night. The winters are the best time to visit historic city. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 09 - IN UDAIPUR (B)

After breakfast city tour of Udaipur. If Jaipur is a city in pink, Udaipur is a study in white. The city is famous for its palaces, lake, museums, temples, and gardens. The City Palace and Museum is considered as the largest palace complex in Rajasthan and its museum has stunning collection of objects collected by different Maharanas of Udaipur over the centuries. The Picholia Lake, Udai Sagar, and Pratap Sagar are some of the most beautiful lakes in the state. Some other attractions in the city are the Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon Ki Bari, Jag Mandir, Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir, Pratap Memorial, and Ahar Museum. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 10 - UDAIPUR TO MUMBAI (STAY AT THE TAJ MAHAL PALACE, MUMBAI) (B)

In time transfer to Udaipur airport to board flight for Mumbai. Mumbai is the fast paced commercial, financial, industrial and celluloid capital of India. Lured by its glamour and the prospects of ’streets paved with gold’, a large number of people from different parts of the country come to settle in this city every year. And Mumbai continues to grow, to absorb and most importantly to prosper. Just when you begin to wonder how you’re ever going to cope with Mumbai, you arrive at Worli and see Haji Ali Mosque standing proudly on a raised walkway in the middle of the sea giving you the feeling that the Gods are there if everything else fails. If you arrive at night, there will be a backdrop of twinkling lights from the skyscrapers that are so much a feature of Mumbai’s skyline. The scenes change as you drive past Chowpatty Beach, ablaze with the lights of stalls selling fruit-juice, ice-cream and snacks to the crowds thronging the beach. By the time you reach Marine Drive, your spirits will be restored and the rush of traffic won’t seem half so daunting as it might have been earlier, and the sedate horse-drawn landau will seem a charming anachronism. Once a tiny island overrun by swaying palm trees, Mumbai used to belong to the native Koli fisher-folk, who still live here in their little villages surrounded by soaring skyscrapers. Portuguese came here in the seventeenth century and dotted the place with several forts, which stand even today. Later Mumbai came under the British rule and eventually became one of the largest ports in the British Empire. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 11 - IN MUMBAI (B)

After breakfast city tour of Mumbai. Once you are in Mumbai, the list of sites to visit is endless. First of all the twinkling lights from the skyscrapers itself will keep your eyes wide open with excitement and wonder. And to add up to your excitement you have a number of sites to visit that could be teamed up as historical sites, contemporary wonders, archaeological sites, religious sites and natural wonders. The Gateway of India is the main attraction of Mumbai city. Built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary for the Delhi Durbar in the year 1911, this massive historical monument makes a must visit during your Mumbai sightseeing. Moreover, there are sites like the Mani Bhawan or the Gandhi memorial, Prince of Wales Museum, Marine Drive and Juhu that give you the feeling of being in the commercial capital of India. The gardens like the Hanging Garden and the Kamla Nehru Garden will provide you the much needed rest between your sightseeing trips and the Chowpatty gives you the view of one of the most happening beaches of Mumbai. How many people will be on my trip?

Good things come in small packages, which is why we keep our group sizes down. This means we’re small enough to remain flexible as we thread our way through communities without intimidating the locals. On most of our trips, you’ll be part of an intimate group of 12-16 people, though our group sizes are on average 10 people. Our Overland trips are in purpose-built vehicles that can carry up to 24 travelers. Group sizes are displayed on each trip’s overview page on our website.

We had a brilliant days driving around Rajasthan and seeing the sights. Our driver was excellent, he was funny, helpful and we felt safe in the crazy Indian traffic. It’s quite a bit of driving but the car was great, really comfortable and well equipped. Our guides were knowledgable and really added value to our trip.

This was a nice experience with family and friends we come together for this trip and really enjoyed the whole time .. I must say that Rajasthan is truly landlord kind maybe this is the reason this is called a Rajasthan.

I had a great trip through the beautiful Rajasthan. I was accompanied like an empress through this ramshackle country. I always felt very safe and comfortable with my kind driver. We always had an interesting conversation and also a lot of fun. It could not be better!!! All my insecurities about travelling alone as a woman through India quickly evaporated.
