DAY 01 – ARRIVE IN DELHI – STARTING WITH THE JOURNEY

Arrive Delhi, meet assist at the airport & transfer to hotel. This is the capital city of India, and can be called as a major gateway to India. DAY 02 – DELHI TO AGRA – SO THE JOURNEY BEGINS

After breakfast half day combined city tour Old & New Delhi visiting Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Red Fort, Made by Mughal Empror Shahjahan, Jama Masjid, The largest in India, It has three great gateways, four angle towers and two minarets constructed of alternating vertical strips of red sandstone and white marble. Chandni Chowk, this main street of Old Delhi is the colorful shopping bazaar, known as Chandni Chowk. It has very sharp contrast to the open, spacious streets of Delhi. Laxmi Narayan Temple, dedicated to Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and good fortune. India Gate, this 42ms high stone of triumph is a war memorial. It bears the names of 85,000 Indian army soldiers, who died in the campaigns of WWI. Rashtrapati Bhawan - This palace-like building is the official residence of the President of India and an interesting blend of Mughal and western architectural styles. DAY 03 – AGRA TO DELHI FLY TO VARANASI - A PIOUS CITY

After breakfast city tour visiting, Taj Mahal, built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Besides the Taj, the Agra Fort (also called the Red Fort) makes an interesting sight. Other major attractions include the tomb of Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra, Rambagh, the Mughal Garden and Dayal Bagh Temple, Itmad Ud Dauula. Besides the historical monuments, one can also explore Agra’s rich heritage of handicrafts in its markets. In time transfer to Delhi airport to board flight for Varanasi, On arrival transfer to Hotel and assist with check in Hotel. Night stay in Varanasi.

DAY 04 – VARANASI TO BODHGAYA – LOOKING AT THE SMOKING WATER

Early Morning Boat cruise on river Ganges. After breakfast city tour of Varanasi visiting temples Alamgir Mosque, Durga Temple, Vishwanat Temple, Bharat Mata temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Banaras Hindu University and the Archaeological Museum. Afternoon depart by surface to Bodhgaya. On arrival check-in at Hotel. Bodhgaya located in the state of Bihar, Bodhgaya along with Sarnath and Kushinagar are the most sacred places for the Buddhists around the country. It is here in Bodhgaya that Buddha is supposed to have attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. The tree from the original sapling still stands in the temple premises. Night stay in Bodhgaya.

DAY 05 – IN BODHGAYA – GETTING ENLIGHTNENED UNDER THE BODHI TREE

After breakfast city tour of Bodhgaya visiting the magnificent Mahabodhi temple stands adjacent to this bodhi tree. The temple stands on the site of the ancient temple erected by Ashoka in the 3rd century BC. The inscriptions here describe the visits of pilgrims from Sri Lanka, Myanmar and China between 7th and 10th century AD. Night stay in Bodhgaya.

DAY 06 – BODHGAYA TO PATNA ENROUTE RAJGIR – RECEIVING GOOD COUNCIL

After breakfast depart by surface to Patna. On arrival check-in at Hotel. Patna is situated on the southern bank of the holy river Ganges. It is a typical tropical city in the northern Gangetic plains known for being the capital of mighty Magadh and Mauryan empires. The history of the city can be traced back to 2,500 years when it was founded on the confluence of rivers Ganga, Sone, Punpun, and Gandak by the Magadhan king Ajatshatru who named it Pataligram. In the days to come, the city got names such as Kusumpur, Pataliputra, and finally Patna. The glory of Patna started with Mauryan emperor Chandragupta who made Pataliputra his capital from where he ruled on entire Gangetic plains extending to modern Afghanistan in the west. The city reached it zenith during the reign of Emperor Ashoka, a follower of Buddhism and the first of the great kings of India. The city remained as the centre of power till the Gupta period after which it continued to languish for a long period. Revival came with Sher Shah’s accession to the seat of Delhi and the city became the capital of Bengal province. In the initial days of East India Company, Patna served as the warehouse for hugely profitable opium business with China. Night stay in Patna.

DAY 07 – PATNA TO KUSHINAGAR - A HOLY DIP IN THE WATER

After breakfast depart by surface to Kushinagar. On arrival check-in at Hotel. About 51 kilometres from Gorakhpur lies Kushinagar, a place famous for the Mahaparinirvana (death) of Lord Buddha. The town, once a celebrated center of the Malla kingdom, has many of the stupas and viharas that date back to 230 BC–413 AD. One of the important sites to see here is the Mahaparinirvana Temple, where you can find the famous reclining statue of Buddha. The 20-feet-long statue is seated on a brick platform. Around the temple, one can find the ruins of as many as eight monasteries. Night stay in Kushinagar.

DAY 08 – KUSHINAGAR TO LUMBINI – FROM THE BEGINNING

After breakfast visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple & Stupas , Afternoon depart by surface to Lumbini. On arrival check-in at Hotel. Lumbini - the birthplace of the Buddha, was located in 1890 after being untraced for 1,500 years. Evening sightseeing tour of Lumbini including a visit to the birth Place of Lord Buddha. Night stay in Lumbini.

DAY 09 – LUMBINI TO BALRAMPUR - LOTUS SPLENDOR

After breakfast depart by surface to Balrampur. On arrival check-in at Hotel. Balrampur city is in close vicinity of Shravasti where Lord Gautam Buddha is considered to have displayed his supernatural powers in the spiritual transformation of Angulimala, a famous dacoit who wore a necklace (mala) of fingers (anguli). DAY 10 – BALRAMPUR TO LUCKNOW - WANDERING IN LUCK

After breakfast depart by surface to Lucknow enroute Sravasti - the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala, has the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. The city believed to be founded by the mythological king Sravast, has age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. Buddha is said to have performed some miracles here. On arrival check-in at Hotel. Afternoon city tour, a trip to the various architectural wonders is an absolute must. Among the most important monuments are the Imambadas, popularly known as the Bada Imambada (also Asafi Imambada) and the Chhota Imambada (also Hussainabad Imambada). The remains of the British presence and the battles fought during the Revolt of 1857 can also be seen here. Besides, there are the Shah Najaf Imambada, Residency, Rumi Darwaza, Kaiserbagh Palace Complex, National Botanical Research Institute and the State Museum and Zoo. Night stay in Lucknow.

DAY 11 – LUCKNOW TO DELHI - FOLLOWING THE ROADS

In time transfer to railway station to your train for Delhi. On arrival meet assist at the railway station & transfer to hotel. Night stay in Delhi.

    This 12-days trip was amazing!!! Exotic Luxury Holiday came up trumps. Everywhere we went the drivers and guides were there to meet us. Their knowledge of the different places was superb!! The meals were great and the hotels were excellent. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

    We booked this tour as we had a limited time in India and it appeared to be an easy way to get around. The tour was very well organized, was always on time but allowed us time to see what we wanted and all the tour guides were very knowledgeable, in short, we had a great time and would recommend this tour to anyone.
